When we started shopping clothes for our little one 3 years back, we came across things that seemed random, but had a consistent pattern. Colours decided by gender (Pink for girls, Blue for boys), phrases on clothing defining what kids should be ("Soccer Star" for boys, "Little Princess" for girls) or how they should feel ("Awesome" for boys, "Adorable" for girls). Unnecessary frills and trims..

While it could all seem trivial, somehow, it just did not seem ok.
